Misty at Milton Heath
It was a misty and cool start at Milton Heath but with promise of many sunbeams later. As a group of eight, we traveled south on lesser used bridleways. The sun made a welcome appearance and it was a joy to see the morning dew steaming off a meadow as we passed.
We paused while Fran had a brief and unintended laydown on the approach to Summer Lightning. After rolling though Summer Lightning, we climbed up though Coldharbour Common. Here we paused for a photo with Leith Hill tower visible on the skyline (see pic). We continued down the southern flanks of Leith Hill, climbing to undulating trails to Yogurt Pots and BKB. Finally we arrived at the ever popular Peaslake moutain bike hub and watering hole.
The return was a fast descent to Abinger Hammer, and onward along Abinger Roughs and back to Milton Heath.
Many thanks to Fran for an excelent ride.
